Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a high-profile visit to France aimed at strengthening India's strategic ties with key global partners. One of the key moments of his visit was attending a private dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, whom Modi fondly calls "friend". The dinner highlighted the deep personal and diplomatic bond between the two leaders, reflecting the strong India-France strategic partnership.

French President Emmanuel Macron extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival in Paris for dinner at the Elysee Palace. Macron personally welcomed Modi and the two leaders shared a friendly moment before moving forward with their discussions.


Soon after landing, Prime Minister Modi attended the welcome dinner hosted by Macron for the summit leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Vice President JD Vance.

In Marseille, he will inaugurate the first Indian Consulate in France and visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a multinational initiative for clean energy. He will also pay tribute to Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in World Wars I and II at the Mazargues War Cemetery.

After his visit to France, Prime Minister Modi will visit the United States (February 12-14) at the invitation of President Donald Trump. This is their first meeting with Trump after his re-election. Prime Minister Modi will be among the few leaders who will visit the White House in the first month of Trump's second term.
